What happens if my timer expires and I'm actually fine?

You stay in control the whole time. You can extend the timer mid-activity with Modify Time, or stop it the moment you're done by entering your PIN. If it does expire by accident, just open the app and mark yourself safe with a message saying it was an accident. Your contacts see the update immediately.

What if my phone dies or loses signal?

Your timer runs on our servers, not just on your phone. If the timer expires and you haven't checked in for any reason, including a dead battery or loss of signal, your emergency contacts are still alerted with your last known location.

Who can see my location?

Only the emergency contacts you've personally selected to alert for that timer, and only while a timer or stream is active. GuardianLive is not a constant tracker. When no activity is running, nothing is tracked or shared.

Do my emergency contacts need the app?

Yes, your contacts use GuardianLive to see your active timers, watch live streams, and receive alerts with your location and response instructions. Adding each other takes seconds.

Will it drain my battery?

GuardianLive only shares your location while a timer or stream is active, so there's no constant background tracking eating your battery. Live video streaming uses more power, as any camera app does, but timers are designed to be light.

How does the emergency PIN work?

You set two PINs that look identical in use. Your normal PIN confirms you're safe. Your emergency PIN appears to work exactly the same way but silently alerts your contacts with a DURESS badge and your live location. Anyone watching over your shoulder will not know that you sent a distress signal.
